About Gørtz
Gørtz is run and owned by the self-taught jewelery designer Julie Gørtz Flou Nielsen. The majority of d e unique jewelery is of own design and handmade in Denmark by the designer himself.
At Gørtz, we love jewelry a lot! We are inspired by many things in our daily lives, which is why the selection of jewelery ranges from simple and classic earrings to whimsical and colorful necklaces.
Our jewelry
All our jewelry is made in sterling silver 925 or gold-plated sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of silver with 92.5% pure silver. Therefore stamped 925. Sterling silver should be seen as a quality stamp, therefore keep your jewelry from Gørtz for many years.
In addition to good materials, we also use various gemstones, crystals or real freshwater pearls in good quality.
When all our jewelery is handmade, each piece of jewelery will therefore be unique - Our gemstones can vary very little in the sharpness of the color. Our Freshwater pearls may vary slightly in shape. They are naturally created in a clam that creates and carries the pearl for 2-5 years. The best care you can give a freshwater pearl is to wear it as it absorbs moisture from the skin, thereby preserving the shine.
Care of jewelry
In order for your jewelery to look good for as long as possible, remember to take good care of it and treat it with care.
A piece of jewelery will always fade a little over time, but you can extend its durability by following these simple tips:
- To preserve the shine of your jewelry, use a polishing cloth to polish and wipe your jewelry, but never use homemade methods to clean your jewelry.
- Avoid getting your jewelry in contact with perfumes, creams, nail polish removers, hair sprays or similar chemicals.
- Avoid exposing your jewelry to water and moisture. therefore avoid exposing your jewelery to sports, bathing, cooking and not wearing it while sleeping.
- Store your jewelry in an airtight bag or jewelry box if you want to prevent your sterling silver jewelry from getting darker as part of the natural oxidation process. If a piece of jewelery has been oxidized, it can be polished so that it becomes shiny and fine again.
Gold-plated jewelery will eventually patinate / fade and this is not considered a complaint.
